Last May I had the opportunity to check something off my bucket list. A long time flower friend, Susan McLeary (from Ann Arbor, MI) agreed to come to Fort Wayne to teach a workshop. I have had the pleasure of watching this floral design superstar from her beginnings. You really need to follow her on Instagram! passionflowersue
I have wanted to host a workshop at this very special property for a long time…. and it just so happened the stars were in alignment! During the two day intensive workshop, Susan guided our group of flower fanatics through bridal bouquets, table centerpieces, floral arches, and her specialty… living jewelry. Her patient, kind and humble spirit was pure delight for all of us to learn from.
After we finished our designs, Amanda Doumochelle captured all the beauty. Maggie Kitch was our gorgeous model, in a stunning Hailey Paige gown graciously loaned to us by Autumn from One Fine Day. Andi from Something Blue Stylists was on site for Maggie’s hair and makeup. Lots of the floral material was harvested from the property, and fabulous tulips, snowball viburnum and alliums were brought in from Buckeye Blooms in Ohio. Thanks again @flowersfromtherafters for bringing those blooms to us! Roses from Peter Korte, clematis from Mayesh and anemones from Battenfelds! Floral yumminess!
A huge big hug to every person that had a hand in this magical event. Thank you for helping make this vision come to life!
